Sunny Di Francesco
Sunny Di Francesco is a proud second-generation Sicilian-Canadian whose earliest memories include singing lively tarantelle with her Nana in the kitchen, surrounded by the aroma of vavaluci and other traditional Sicilian dishes. She began learning Sicilian folk songs as a way to connect with her heritage - at first to entertain her family, but also to help preserve the culture for her own generation.
Sunny along with her brothers, created the Di Francesco Trio and are sharing the mesmerizing rhythms of Sicily through their artistry. These songs are living pieces of history, carrying the stories, resilience, and joy of the Sicily her grandparents knew. Though Sicily has changed over time, its spirit continues to echo through the music.
