Son of Italian immigrants, Montreal rocker Gianni Bodo has been showcasing his unique ability to produce and perform music in three languages for nearly 3 decades. A regular headliner for ItalfestMTL, this rock and roll chameleon has performed as an opener for the likes of Italian icons Claudio Baglioni and Umberto Tozzi. Renowned for his high-profile collaborations with, among others, Juno Award-winning producer and songwriter Pierre Marchand (Sarah McLachlan, Rufus Wainwright) and Grammy-nominated Irish singer Colin Devlin, the unique musical journey of this Italo-Montrealer has been featured internationally in multiple radio and television broadcasts, newspapers, blogs, webzines, and magazines.
In 2021, "Si Je Pars," his first commercial French language single, co-written with 80’s blockbuster songwriter Nicholas Eede ("I Just Died in Your Arms"), charted across Quebec and became the first French language single to reach the finals in the history of Canadian Music Week. The song also held a spot on the Stingray chart for nearly three years.
Bodo’s new French EP "Désynchronisés" has been making waves internationally, as his current single "Le Silence" continues to air on radios across Quebec and in France.
